Join me, Peter Kater…

…for 6 nights and 7 days in the raw, elemental power of Zion National Park — an immersive, transformational retreat designed to catalyze deep presence, emotional honesty, embodied vitality, intimacy, joy, and gratitude in one of the most awe-inspiring places on Earth. This is not a passive retreat.
It is a living, participatory experience that asks you to show up — fully, courageously, and honestly.

Through live music, breathwork, sound journeys, authentic relating, yoga, qigong, and direct inquiry, we will engage the places in us that long to awaken, reorganize, and come alive. Listening — to music, to silence, to the body, to one another — becomes an active practice. The questions posed are not theoretical; they are experiential, often provocative, and designed to cut through habit, self-protection, and unconscious patterning.

Being truly present with ourselves, the Earth, and one another is not always comfortable — but it is profoundly liberating. This work has a way of opening what has been closed, softening what has been armored, and clarifying what has been waiting to be lived. Many participants describe leaving these retreats changed — with greater emotional freedom, clarity, self-trust, and a deeper sense of aliveness that continues long after the retreat ends.

We will gather at Nama-Stay Retreat Center, an intentionally designed sanctuary just outside the park, held by open sky, red rock mesas, and vast silence. Zion itself is an uncompromising teacher. Towering sandstone cliffs rise more than 2,000 feet from the canyon floor, shaped over millions of years by wind, water, pressure, and time. The land doesn’t soothe by distracting — it stabilizes by telling the truth.

Zion’s immense scale, dark night skies, and constantly shifting light have a powerful regulating and clarifying effect on the nervous system. Mornings arrive in gold and shadow, afternoons blaze red with intensity, and evenings soften into deep stillness and stars. The environment amplifies what is real, accelerates insight, and supports genuine inner reorganization.

Music is a central force throughout the retreat — sometimes experienced as concert-style performances, sometimes in intimate one-on-one settings, and sometimes informally beside the fire. You’ll be invited to lie beneath the piano as I play, allowing sound and vibration to move through you physically and emotionally. Those who wish may also sign up for a private, recorded Piano Reading — a deeply personal musical reflection offered specifically for you.

Our days are nourished by hearty, delicious meals prepared with locally sourced, organic, farm-to-table ingredients. Every afternoon is intentionally left open — space to integrate, receive a massage, experience a private breathwork session or piano reading, journal, rest, or explore the land. Walk to the river, wander the red rock canyons, or take an excursion to iconic places such as The Narrows or Angels Landing.

Formal group sessions take place between sunrise and lunch, and again in the early evening before dinner, allowing both intensity and spaciousness — engagement and integration — to work together.

I’m excited to meet you in Zion — a meeting place of stone and sky, where pressure creates beauty, stillness reveals truth, and transformation is not forced, but inevitable. This land is alive with the voices of animals, wind, water, trees, stone, and stars — and it has a way of inviting your own voice back into the conversation.

Here, you won’t just relax — you’ll listen more honestly, feel more deeply, and reconnect with the part of you that knows how to live with courage, intimacy, and authenticity.

Zion is not just a place you visit. It is a place that confronts you, clarifies you, and invites you into the next, truer version of yourself.

Peter Kater is a Grammy-winning pianist and composer whose work spans over four decades, with more than 70 recordings and numerous film and television scores. While widely known for his evocative piano music, Peter’s deeper work lives at the intersection of music, presence, and inner transformation. Beginning in his late teens, he has walked a lifelong path of spiritual inquiry and embodied practice, allowing his music and facilitation to arise intuitively—guided by the moment, the group, and what wants to be felt and heard.

Peter will be joined by his dear friends and collaborators Melanie Roske and Jeremy Wakefield Roske, co-founders of AHANAH and co-creators of the InWave Alchemy™ method. Together, they bring decades of lived devotion to sound, breath, and somatic awareness.

Jeremy’s channeled vocal soundscapes and somatic guidance open doorways into deep remembrance and release, while Melanie’s intuitive mentorship and breath facilitation bring clarity, grounding, and integration. As a trio, they create a field of safety, depth, and resonance—where music becomes a bridge, breath becomes a guide, and presence becomes the medicine.
